Hate crimes
The insane act of a person driven by hate that occurred this past Saturday, ended the life of 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburg. Among the victims was a 97-year-old Holocaust survivor named Rose Mallinger. To have survived one of the most horrendous hate times in history under the Nazi army only to be assassinated 73 years later by a hater; is not only incomprehensible but also unfair. It is sickening to witness the increment of acts of hate here in the United States and around the world.
These violent acts need to be taken very seriously and actions to contain them and to avoid their proliferation need to be a priority by authorities here in the United States, and around the world. Hate cannot be tolerated ever again.

His last column
The Washington Post has published the last column of journalist Jamal Khashoggi before his disappearance. In this column, he talks about the need for a free press in the Arab World, and how restrictions of the media work in this part of the globe. He brought to light things that most people ignore about freedom of speech in the Arab World and most likely will make many governments uncomfortable with his publication. Although how his life ended is still unknown; one thing is for sure, he'll be remembered as a real defender of free expression.

Respect for life
The recent assassination of Bulgarian journalist Viktoria Marinova is one more example of the lack of respect for the lives of journalists around the world. All journalists and people, in general, need to show disgust toward cowardly acts against those willing to talk with the truth. Although the motives are not clear yet, and the suspect hasn't been caught, it all points as being politically motivated.

Back again
I'm back; it's been a while since my last publication. I've been swamped finishing some personal projects, but you'll see more posts soon.
